19 Dumfries ASC swimmers of all ages and abilities travelled to Castlemilk Leisure Pool, Glasgow to participate in the City of Glasgow Swim Team, Johnstone Shearer 2nd annual memorial meet on Sunday 14 October to raise funds for the Beatson Cancer Charity.
The meet is a fun event with a mix of individual and team relay events including the t-shirt relay which generally creates a great deal of noise and laughter.
Coach, Phil Stewart said, 'This was a great event to take swimmers to and we are delighted to have been asked to participate. It gave the young swimmers an opportunity to gain more experience of swim meets and allowed the older swimmers the chance to showcase their talents in a relaxed environment'.
Special mention to Noah Wilson for swimming across 2 age groups and Ayla Hannay who swam in the boys relays. Both acquitted themselves very well.
Thanks to Team Manager, Tanya Harkness for keeping order, Jade Kirkpatrick, Assistant Coach and all the Dumfries ASC Team Officials in attendance to help ensure that the meet could take place.
Looking forward to attending this good fun event for a great cause in future years.
