Ren 96 Graded Meet 2018

19 young swimmers form Dumfries ASC made the journey to Linwood for the Ren 96 Graded Meet.

A favourite venue for many of the DASC parent contingent.

Despite continuing to train in a temporary facility this does not hinder the hard work and determination of our young team. Sportsmanship was clear to see with swimmers cheering one another on at the end of the lane! The club amassed a total of 35 medals-8 golds 4 Silvers, 6 Bronze, nine 4th place ribbons, six 5th place, two 6th place ribbons and not forgetting 4 coveted 'swam too fast' awards.

Assistant Head Coach Ross McCaffery was suitably impressed with all performances and said 'It was great to see swimmers getting to swim a range of different events that they may not ordinarily swim showing the depth within the club . We also had plenty of PB's over all with some swimmers showing drastic improvements on previous times.'

Well done to one of our youngest competitors Georgia Dickie for knocking 17 seconds off her 100 Individual medley and to Lucas Fermus 17 seconds off his 100 free.

Medal winners were Annna Fox , Isla Fyall ,Casey Maxwell, Brooke Rogerson, Molly Russell, Luke Scott, Ryan White, Ryan McHardy and George McGeoch. Big shout out to George for taking nearly 20 seconds off his 200 fly and 100IM and to Ryan McHardy - 20 seconds off 200 fly. Wow ! :)

Alex Scott scooped golds for all 3 of his events as did Aimme Harkness who also took a staggering 38 seconds off her 400 free. Finally congratulations to Daniel Wilson who medalled in all 8 of his events: 4 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze and a cheeky wee fourth. Fantastic, well done!

Proud of you all. :)

Thanks goes to coaches Ailsa Nelson and Ross McCafferty and to Team Mnager Jane Gemmell for supporting the swimmers over the weekend.
