December 17, 2017

Last month Dumfries ASC appointed a new Assistant Coach. They welcomed Ross McCafferty from Lanark with support from The Holywood Trust and Dumfries and Galloway council.

In addition to his role within the club Ross takes on the post of Regional Coach working with swimmers as far as Annan ,Merrick and Stranraer.

Ross was a multiple National medal winner and Scottish National Champion in 2016 in the 100m backstroke .

He trained as a member of City of Glasgow’s Elite Performance squad and transitioned from swimmer to coach within his club in 2015 after a number of years coaching experience in his hometown of Lanark.

Ross has also been involved in the District Regional Programme within Scottish Swimming as Assistant Coach in both 2016 and 17.

He has certainly made a positive impact across the board and we welcome his skills, experience, knowledge and fresh input to the club. We wish him every success in this new chapter.
