Dumfries Amateur swimming club has been busy over the festive period continuing to travel to swimming competitions. On the 15th December, 14 young swimmers attended Sir Matt Busby to take part in the Cumbernauld Christmas Sprints which is a fast and furious meet. Alex Scott - gold in all 4 of his races 50m freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Luke Scott - silver in 50m backstroke, Lochlan Hannay - silver in 50m butterfly and bronze in 50m backstroke. Lexi Anders
At the end of November, Dumfries Amateur Swimming Club had their annual advent meet, held again at Sir Matt Busby Sports Complex in Bellshill. This is an important meet for the club and is always well attended. The smooth running of this is achieved by the support of all the parents and volunteers of the club. Coaches, Christine Proudfoot, Ross McCafferty and Anthony Ryan all said that the swimmers were a credit to the club and all swam well which showed in the medals awarde

Last month, over the weekend of 25th and 26th November Dumfries ASC held their annual advent meet at Sir Matt Busby Sport Centre in Bellshill due to DG1 being closed for repairs. Thank you to North Lanarkshire Leisure Centre. Fifteen clubs from across Scotland attended and over 290 swimmers swam over the course of the weekend, Each swimmer received an advent calendar as a wee gift from the club. This meet is always a fast and fun packed weekend with swimmers looking to get P.
The end of April was marked by Dumfries Amateur Swim club’s home meet. This was held at The Matt Busby Centre in Bellshill as ongoing repairs continue at DG One. This was a great opportunity for some of the clubs youngest swimmers to get the chance to compete and set some benchmark personal best times. 6 swimmers from Dumfries ASC attended Rutherglen Rascals meet at Bellshill over the weekend of 27th-28th May, coming home with 23 medals between them and a clutch of personal best times. Ben Copeland won 4 gold and 6 silver medals, Ruben Kelly wot 3 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals, Austin Sinclair won 2 silver and 2 bronze medals and Daniel Wilson won 2 silver medals.
