Earlier this month 23 young swimmers from Dumfries Amateur Swim Club (DASC) travelled to Prestonpans in Midlothian for The Hearts Premier Age Group Meet. A busy meet seeing teams travel from as far as Aberdeen. There was a competitive edge to the friendly atmosphere. Although we are still early in the season the swimmers excelled themselves.. On the 18th September 16 swimmers from Dumfries Amateur Swimming Club had a one day meet at the Peak, Sterling. This was to be a successful day as they brought home 24 medals in total, 8 Gold, 9 Silver and 8 Bronze. Last month 28 young swimmers from Dumfries Amateur Swim Club(DASC) travelled to Auchenharvie to compete in The North Ayrshire Development Meet. Although the pool itself has a small spectating area supporters filled every available space and the atmosphere was positive and exciting! This event was one of the opening meets of the season for our swimmers and the results speak for themselves. The team amassed a staggering 59 medals - 28 gold ,14 silver and 17 bronze between them.
13 Intermediate Swimmers from Dumfries Amateur Swim Club (DASC) recently made the 157 mile trip to Leeds for the weekend to compete in a Long course Graded Meet. This meant all races were swam in a 50m pool and Dumfries were indeed the only Scottish Club present. It was a team event and the penultimate end of season competition.
